When to Consider Invisalign

When you look at your teeth, you’re not happy. They aren’t straight. You want a beautiful smile that will be unforgettable. It’s time to do something about your problems with your teeth. Orthodontic treatment can improve the appearance of your teeth. Before you set your mind on braces, consider Invisalign®.

Why Choose Invisalign®?
Invisalign® is an exciting advance in the world of orthodontics that appeals to every age. It revolves around the use of plastic, clear aligners that are made to fit your teeth. You can barely tell that they are there. Your aligners will be changed every two weeks as your teeth shift. You won’t have to deal with the discomfort that comes with metal brackets and wires. While you need to wear them for at least 22 hours to have the best results, you can take out your aligners when you need to clean your teeth.

Is Invisalign® Right for You?
In order to be a candidate, you need to have minor orthodontic issues. If you have major concerns, you are more likely a candidate for traditional braces. Invisalign® takes about the same amount of time as other treatment methods. You will need to be conscientious about wearing your aligners as much as possible. It is also important that you take good care of your teeth. You want straight teeth that are healthy as well.

How to Get Started with Invisalign®
The first step in starting Invisalign® treatments is to see our orthodontist. Your teeth will be examined and we will identify the source of your issues. If it can work for you, your first set of aligners will be created based on advanced technology. You will be instructed about the care for your aligners, what foods or drinks to avoid, and find out what you can expect. Your teeth are going to be sensitive when you first have treatment. However,  they will become more comfortable as you become accustomed to your aligners. Your teeth will be monitored to ensure that you are making good progress. At the end of your treatment, you may need to wear a retainer in order to maintain your new smile.
