What to Expect with Invisalign

Invisalign® is a popular alternative to braces to straighten teeth, fix bites and help prevent the damage from grinding teeth at night. Invisalign® is a set of removable, clear trays that your orthodontist can give you that are molded to your mouth to help move your teeth slowly and gently to get the results that you are looking for.

Research the options

When you are looking for ways to straighten your teeth, research all the ways that this issue can be solved. Speak to friends and family that may have had first-hand experience and make a list of questions you’d like to ask your dentist about Invisalign®.

It’s also important to research the price of all of these options. The price of braces, Invisalign®, carriere distalizer, and so on can be pretty pricey and the treatments can last from a few months to several years. Be sure that the price of the option you prefer can fit into your budget.

Choose the right dentist

Teeth straightening options like Invisalign® can affect your life in different ways, so be sure to choose a dentist that has experience with Invisalign®. Don’t be afraid to meet with several dentists if you aren’t satisfied with the answers to all your questions, the plan to fix your issues, and the payment schedule.

Straightening your teeth

During your consultation, your dentist will create a plan for solving your issues that you both can agree to. That’s when you’ll get x-rays and impressions of your teeth for your new Invisalign® trays. Because the Invisalign® trays are gently moving your teeth, expect there to be a minimal amount of discomfort when you first start wearing a new tray. You may have to wear them for an extended period of time, but this discomfort will lessen as you wear them.

Post Invisalign®

Night retainers are common post Invisalign® adjustments to prevent your now straight teeth from moving back to their original positions. However, this is a small life adjustment to the healthy straight smile you are going to have! Contact Dr. Scott Runnels Orthodontics today to get started.
