Why Use a Carriere Distalizer?

The importance of having an attractive smile cannot be overstated. When a person has an unattractive smile, it can make them less confident. The lack of confidence can also affect their business opportunities and personal relationships. On the other hand, when someone has a great smile, a certain confidence exudes, allowing them to take on anything that comes their way.

At Runnels Orthodontics, our dental professionals have a variety of tools at their disposal that can be used to help individuals get a more attractive smile. Some of the common tools that our dental professionals can use include X-rays, fillings, crowns, teeth whitening products and much more. A tool that is less known, but very effective, is a Carriere Distalizer.

If you are completely unfamiliar with this device, you should know that it is able to accomplish the same goal that a dental professional tries to accomplish using headgear. The purpose of a Carriere Distalizer is to push upper teeth back in order to correct the patient’s bite. The great thing about this device is that our orthodontist is able to correct an individual’s bite without needing to remove any of their permanent teeth.

The process begins when braces are attached to the lower teeth. This is needed in order to anchor the entire unit, and elastics will be attached on one end to the bottom braces. Then the devices are attached to a couple of teeth on the upper arch. In order for it to be effective, our dental professionals will teach the patient how to place elastics on the device that is attached in the mouth. Most individuals are able to see results after six months or so of using this orthodontic device.

The Carriere Distalizer is a great tool that can be used to improve a person’s bite and help them to have a more attractive and healthy smile. Having a more attractive smile is going to give a person a boost of confidence and help them feel ready to take on the world.
