Dr. Runnels offers our specialized S.M.A.R.T. Analysis to patients for improved convenience and preventative care. The analysis process may include a radiology report, CBCT, custom treatment planning using Anatomodel, a pediatric sleep study, and any clinical concerns Dr. Runnels has. Following the analysis, patients are provided with a flash drive containing their records. This can be used to coordinate with pediatricians or ENT. The analysis and in-depth records can then be used to effectively identify, prevent, and correct a variety of conditions and developmental abnormalities.
S- Smile- We are looking at just that! We want to make sure your child’s smile is something you both love. We will check for asymmetry and malocclusions as well as the overall appearance of your child’s smile!
M- Maxillary Constriction –Developmentally, this is an important stage of growth for your child. We will ensure that your child’s palate has adequate width to promote healthy breathing. The maxilla needs to have an adequate bony housing for the tongue.
A- Airway, Adenoids, and Tonsils- Through the use of our 3D digital x-rays, CBCT, we will evaluate airway constrictions or tonsil/adenoid inflammations. We will do our best to address any concerns, and refer to an ENT specialist if necessary.
R- Root angulation – Early diagnosis of improper lower molar angulation. We want to upright lower molars that tip towards the tongue. We will create healthy root positions to allow for a better bony housing for the tongue.
T- Treatment Planning- With our cutting-edge technology, we will create a 3D digital treatment plan and simulation customized JUST for you!
