PROPEL® is a cutting-edge new technology that can cut the length of orthodontic treatments in half by stimulating the movement of the teeth. Just a few minutes of treatment during your regularly scheduled dermatologist visits can dramatically accelerate the pace of bone remodeling.
Orthodontic treatments usually take so long because they work by remodeling the jaw bone itself. The existing bone must be altered, and new bone has to develop in its place to secure the teeth in their new positions. Uninhibited, this is a slow process. PROPEL® can dramatically accelerate the rate at which this movement and remodeling take place.
The treatment works based on a procedure called Alveocentesis, a micro-invasive treatment option that accelerates the stimulation of bone production in the upper and lower jaw. During PROPEL® treatments, a small scale inflammatory response is triggered. This increases blood flow to the area, in turn speeding up the rate of bone growth and remodeling in the jaw.
PROPEL® offers patients a broad range of advantages, and allows the orthodontists that use it to administer less extensive and less invasive treatments.
