Dental Monitoring uses scans you take on your smartphone to monitor your orthodontic progress. A scan schedule will be set by Dr. Runnels, and you will receive a notification from the app when it is time for your next scan. Scans are usually performed on a weekly basis.
When it is time for your scan, place your special cheek retractor in your mouth to expose your teeth. It is imperative to wear the retractor as it has special markings to indicate tooth movement. Teeth should be completely visible as you hold your device approximately 10 centimeters from your mouth. Follow the instructions on the app to complete your scan.
